This evening’s program is the second of eight programs about Writing Effective and Powerful Affirmations to Making Your Dreams Come True

  1. This evening we are going to look at the BIG “F” word, that’s right, the BIG “F” word for Forgiveness, the first building block in your Personal Affirmation Contract Method.
  2. Secondly, we will be reviewing real life situations and learn how to write a master affirmation by example. This week we will look at writing an affirmation for “Forgiveness/Release/letting Go
  3. Thirdly, we will also be discussing Fear and Beginnings and Endings as they all relate to FORGIVENESS.
  4. Closing with an Inspirational Thought

The Program

Forgiveness – The First Building Block

Don’t get hung up on the word forgiveness if it has a negative connotation for you. May we suggest the words “release” or “Letting go”.

A. What is forgiveness?

2. (a) Forgiveness – Life in a Handshake

Sometimes the simplest of actions reminds us of how simple the act of change is. Consider a simple act of greeting, the handshake.

Simply put, the handshake can be described in terms of three stages.
1. Before you can let go of what you are holding on to, it is essential that you be open to receive; this is an essential attitude to have and to hold.

2. It is essential that you let go of what you are holding on to and what you are letting hold on to you.

3. Completing these two steps allows you to embrace the new experience.

This is what we call Life in a Handshake.

In fact, any activity requiring any form of action, motion, and/or movement requires that these principles be acknowledged and practiced.

2. (b) Life in a Breath (Framework for Living)

Breathing is equally telling about the process of transformation.

In fact, it is even more significant because our very existence depends upon the continuous exchange of gases.

If we do not recognize and practice The "r" Principle of receiving and releasing, and instead we practice the principle of grasping (holding on to receiving and/or releasing), we end up gasping for our lives.

The only difference between grasping and gasping is holding onto the "r", that is, we are resisting the principle of receiving and releasing.

An in-breath is always followed by an out-breath, except in death.

This is what we call Life in a Breath

B. Why forgive?
Your Life Depends upon it! Your freedom. Energizes you so you can move forward.
Forgiveness frees you and lifts a weight off your back. Makes your life lighter easier.

C. When to forgive?
Every moment of Everyday. Forgiveness is a Lifestyle choice.

D. What to forgive?
Everyone and everything that has ever hurt me.

E. How to Forgive?
1. Dr. Evers: Extended Toothbrush Activity (described)

This is a very powerful, simple Exercise that really works!
This is good for all ages, from small children to the elderly.


The reason I call this exercise The Extended Toothbrush Exercise’is because most people get up in the morning and brush their teeth. So if they do this exercise immediately after, it becomes a part of the process of brushing their teeth. Also they get into a habit of doing it and will not forget to do this exercise.

The Procedure:

Get up in the morning, look yourself in the mirror and say, “Hey Self, you are a mighty fine person.” Then say, “I, (your name), NOW forgive everyone and everything that has EVER hurt me. I now forgive myself. I now love, respect and approve of myself.”

When you say EVER, you are going right back to when you were in your mother’s womb and all types of past hurts and negativity could surface.

If too many memories surface at the same time, just say, “One at a time please.”

One 3rd grader said to me, “Dr. Evers when I say this I cannot say that I love myself. Instead I feel like crying.”

I said, “Randy just keep on doing the Extended Toothbrush Exercise and soon you will be able to say you love yourself and really mean it.”

Several weeks later, when I was visiting the school, he ran up to me and excitedly exclaimed, “Guess what? Now I can say I love myself and I really feel it!”

Such is the power of the simple Extended Toothbrush Exercise!

2. Dr. Evers: The Angel Letter(described)

The Angel Letter Process

This is a process whereby you write a letter to someone’s higher self—or angel—from your higher self (see sample). Write the Angel Letter out 15 times, because this is the number mystics believe has the power to destroy negative thoughts.

When I do this exercise, I write the original on a 3” x 5” card and keep it in my wallet. I read over the other 14 letters, then burn them. The person whose angel you are writing to never sees the letter. You only need to do the Angel Letter Procedure once! This is a simple, powerful exercise that produces unbelievable, positive results. Do it and see for yourself.

Note: I have done this process writing the letter only three, 10, and 12 times, but the process works best doing it 15 times.

When writing from your angel to another’s angel, you are communicating on an angelic or higher level, filled with loving kindness, peace, joy, and happiness.

If you wish to change your Angel Letter, write out a new one and staple the new 3” x 5” card to the original card. On the new one, in red ink, write: Revised Edition.

You can even write an Angel Letter to a prospective employer. Write, "To the Angel of the Decision-Maker or Manager: I send you divine wisdom and I thank you for considering my application and for hiring me, to the good of all parties concerned. Thank you from the angel of your prospective employee."

3. Michael: The Release Process
If __________ is not in my life, my experience of life is__________.
If I release ___________, my experience of life is ___________.

Ask: Is it more valuable to keep my current experience of Life or release it based upon the list of values I have just created?

Make the choice.
Commit to it by signing a contract with yourself and have two people witness your choice and date it.

Follow through

4. Michael and Dr. Evers: The Affirmations Forgiveness 3x3 Process
Do your affirmations 3 times a day. Definitely do it in the first person each time you do it. Remember to say it at least 21 times. More if you believe you need to do so.
Optional: Do it using the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd persons I, You, and (S)He for more impact and to up your believe-ability factor.

a) (am – upon rising)
- I (your name)can and deserve to create….
- You (your name) can and deserve to create…
- He/she (your name) can and deserve to create….

b) (pm – midday)
- I ( your name) am now creating….
- You (your name) are now creating….
-He/she (your name) is now creating….

c) (pm – before retiring for the evening)
- I (your name) am grateful/thankful that I have and am now creating….
- You (your name) am grateful/thankful that you have and am now creating….
- He/she (your name) is grateful/thankful that he/she has and is now creating….

2. The 1% Solution: Change one thing at a time: do one new action differently and entertain one new thought. Change your life one new action and one new thought at a time.

3. Ask: What is the one thing that I can do differently today to make my experience of Life better?
Declare: The One thing that I can do differently today to make my experience better is _______.

4. Create Your Dream Action Plan: Ask the SIX BASIC QUESTIONS: Who? What? How? Where? When? Why?

5. Ask: Who are you hanging out with at the Intersection of Your Life?
(Dream Supporters? or Dream Stealers?)

6. Be the Cause of Your Life!
